Cindy Ubben (Causey) Starts a New Chapter
I’m writing this in hopes that you will share your story, too. We’d love to get caught up with our old friends. Send your stories to me at cindy@cindycausey.com
I was the nerdy one in high school who loved English, worked on the yearbook for two years, and took French for three. But for me, it’s always been about words and using them to tell a story, whether it was about our star football player making a touchdown or why you should buy a JCPenney comforter. But after my husband, Scott, died in 2019, I shut down our media production company and started writing for myself. At first, it was my blog, The Widow Woman. Then I went back to fiction. I already had three books under my belt, so I finished a fourth, Sensible Shoes, which was published in 2025. Surprisingly, even to me, a second one came out last year, Saving Samantha. I am a full-fledged, card-carrying author now, going to book clubs and speaking to groups whenever I can. And I have a new book coming out soon, plus three more in the works. I travel all over the world to writing retreats, continuing to hone my craft. This life is a big change from my second chapter, working and raising a family, and the third as a business owner. But this one is exciting and personal and sometimes a little scary, but that’s a good thing. I highly recommend it.
